Glastonbury Festival 2009

Glastonbury attracts thousands of music lovers every year. Tickets for Glastonbury 2009 have already sold out due to the huge demand. The event takes place from Wednesday 24th to Sunday 28th of June 2009. Each year the rumour mill goes into overdrive as to who is going to be performing at the event, this year some of the confirmed acts include Franz Ferdinand, Lily Allen, Bon Iver – some of the rumoured groups that could perform include The Killers, Led Zeppelin, Blur, Keane, Bruce Springsteen and Tom Jones! Glade Festival 2009

The Glade Festival is the leading dance music festival in the UK, and the event organizers have secured a new festival site in Winchester for the event. The V Festival 2009

The V Music Festival will take place on August 22nd and 23rd 2009 and tickets will be on sale in March 2009. This legendary music festival takes place at Seaclose Park, Newport, Isle of Wight, a short ferry trip of the English Coast. This Festival will take place from Friday 12th to Sunday 14th June 2009. Wychwood Music Festival 2009

This family friendly festival is now in its fifth year and runs from Friday 29th May to Sunday 31st May at Cheltenham Racecourse. It provides a fusion of world and roots music and raises funds for the Oxfam Charity. Friday night is headlined by the Super Furry Animals and Saturday by Supergrass. Reading Festival 2009

Big Chill Festival 2009

Man! I’m here to tell you this guy can flat out sing.

With songs on this CD like Quando, Quando, Quando, a beautifully crafted duet with Nelly Furtado Buble is doing nothing but growing his already lofty status in the music world.

It’s magical how with his style and sound he’s able to make even old songs sound brand new.

The way in which every single song is so well done on this CD makes this a collection of tunes music fans like myself simply cannot pass on. Until Buble’ Sinatra was hands down the smoothest of the Jazz singers. That is until Buble’.

Though still very young he has proven to be a very talented artist with the type of voice that even if Jazz isn’t your favorite style you can’t help but appreciate his absolutely silky smooth vocal talents.

The CD launches with a perfect track to start the collection of with in Feeling Good, and from there Buble’ just bowls you over with his talent.

Overall Buble’s vocals and the CDs production value make It’s Time an outstanding release. What I call, must have music. I give it two thumbs up. A CD even casual music fans will appreciate and enjoy listening to.

The standout tunes on It’s Time are Feeling Good [track 1], Quando, Quando, Quando, a duet featuring Nelly Furtado [track 4], and Song For You, featuring Chris Botti [track 11]. My Bonus Pick, and the one that got Sore [...as in "Stuck On REpeat"] is track 9, Try A Little Tenderness. Very nice!

Very talented Rock artist James Taylor has released his latest CD titled Hourglass and Wow! It’s really a good one.

Refreshingly, this was one of those CDs I was able to just pop in and comfortably listen to from beginning to end. Every track is enjoyable and was pretty easy for me to listen to from start to finish.

These days it’s a very rare CD on which every single song is good or better than the one before it. This CD is certainly one of those rare CDs.

I give Hourglass my highest recommendation. It just plain belongs in any serious music collectors collection regardless of genre preference.

While the entire CD is really very good some of my favorites are track 1 – Line ‘Em Up, track 6 – Jump Up Behind Me, and track 12 – Walking My Baby Back Home

My Bonus Pick, and the one that got Sore [...as in "Stuck On REpeat"] is track 9 – Up From Your Life. Great track!

The tickets for the Miley Cyrus tour in 2009 are paperless.  The reasoning behind having paperless tickets was that Miley Cyrus and Ticketmaster were hoping to prevent the overpricing of tickets that happened when Miley toured as “Hannah Montana” two years ago.  When tickets for Miley’s tour were released in the Fall of 2007, they were gone in seconds. How could this have happened?? Members of her Fan Club paid a nominal sum to receive a priority number which would help them obtain tickets the day they were released to the public. However, the “unthinkable” happened, and Hannah’s fans were left angry and dissapointed with no tickets in hand.

Sadly, some brokers were able to “trick” the system with a special computer program which automated the process. This was accomplished by the program “erasing” the hard to read portion of the security code so the “robots” could easily read the security codes and proceed with purchasing tickets faster than the speed of light. Apparently, this program is relatively inexpensive and easy to obtain.

The day after Hannah Montana’s tickets were released, they were showing up on Ticket Web Sites at prices over $1,000. This act of selfishness by some ticket brokers angered Hannah Montana fans nationwide. The Federal Government has told the public that this “won’t happen again.” With this in mind, that is why there are paperless tickets for her tour in 2009. 

The term “paperless” means that in order to enter the concert you need to show the credit card which the tickets were purchased with.  This has not been very convenient for parents who need to pay for parking and then come inside with their teens to swipe their credit cards.  In the meantime, how does one obtain affordable Miley Cyrus  tickets?

I work as an affiliate of a large trusted online ticket agency from the East Coast. We don’t set the prices, we just market the tickets and make a small commission. However, I have observed pricing patterns in many cities where Miley has already performed and offer this advice to parents trying to find cheap Miley Cyrus tickets.

1. Decide which show you want to attend, then start watching the ticket prices for the show as early as 3 -4 weeks before the show. Check back frequently to see if a ticket holder has listed their tickets for a lower price. Often, during the week of the show you can find single tickets for around $100 listed for this particular concert. If you are familiar with the venue, it sometimes is okay to buy a few single tickets and then find a place to watch together once the concert begins.  When Miley performed as “Hannah” there were a few cities where tickets ended up dropping in price the week of the show.  It does pay to keep watching the prices.

2. Put an ad up on Craigslist or in your local Classifieds stating you want to buy Miley Cyrus tickets and name your price. This has also worked for many families, because some ticket holders who were asking outrageous prices have found there is no demand for their high priced tickets.

3. Keep checking Ticketmaster, yes, I’m serious. Recently,  a couple of my customers were persistent and found Miley Cyrus tickets located on Ticketmaster the day of the show. Again, finding tickets for face value on Ticketmaster is not the norm, however, you may get lucky. It’s worth a try, if you can afford to sit at your workplace and keep hitting the Ticketmaster “find tickets” button. Maybe, you can even assign this task to an older child – they can multi-task, by sending IM’s and check for tickets at the same time. They won’t mind, trust me, I have teenagers!

Note that in 2009 with the paperless tickets, if you purchase them online, a representative will meet you at the venue to get you in.  It’s a smart idea to contact the name of the holding broker on the order form you’ll get via email to finalize the details.

Concert Venues In Barcelona

Barcelona has many sights and attractions, from the Art and Architecture to the parks and gardens, it’s no wonder tourists flock each year to the Mediterranean city for a short break or a summer holiday. However, recent years have also seen a new trend in travellers visiting the city – those looking for some exciting concerts! Live Music in Barcelona is fantastic. A cosmopolitan city that many huge International artists choose as a must-have on their international tours – in fact, many recent tours of huge stars have started here, too – thing U2’s recent 360º World Tour and George Michael’s 25 Live tour both broke the ice in Barcelona.

Palau Sant Jordi is an excellent concert venue up on Montjüic Mountain, and a legacy of the 1992 Olympic Games. The multi-purpose venue has been filled with water for the World Swimming championships, covered in Ice for Disney productions and open aired for Spanish X-Factor auditions, but is best served as a concert venue. With a capacity of 20,000 for non-sporting events, it’s no wonder groups such as Green Day, Madonna, Sting, REM, Phil Collins, Beyonce and other superstars choose this venue for the top bill in Barcelona.

Barcelona’s emblematic Camp Nou Stadium – home to FC Barcelona, and the biggest stadium in Europe – is reserved for a select few and U2 have chosen this venue twice in recent years for their Vertigo and 360º tours. The Stadium has a capacity for 110,00 people, but add to that the pitch itself (which almost always has to be re-surfaced) and you have nigh on 100,000 revellers singing along in a unique experience.

The nearby Pavellon Olympico in Badalona, just outside Barcelona is another medium sized venue with a capacity of 12,500. This is often a go between for bands or artists on the up and up. Take That played here recently, and Coldplay famously sold out in February here, then returned in November of the same year to play a sell-out Palau Sant Jordi on the Rush of Blood to the Head tour.

There are also some great downtown venues for live music where fairly famous bands outside of Spain choose to play. Razzmatazz in Poble Nou is a small and intimate venue where, again, bands like Coldplay have played before they reached superstardom, as well as lesser known – but still huge – bands such as NOFX, Keane, Travis and countles

s other Spanish and south American bands who now fill stadiums alike worldwide.

Sala Bikini and Old Town London Bar and Jamboree have also seen their fair share of superstars light up an evening for the fortunate few, with these venues holding less than 150-200 people. The legendary Ella Fitzgerald has played Jamboree, and folk stars such as Billy Bragg and UK hotshots in the 90’s Supergrass chose bikini, too. Another favourite for the alternative crowd is Sala Apolo, on the theatre district’s main avenue, Parallelo. Here expect to be wowed by local and foreign bands about to make it big along with seasoned professionals such as Paul Weller and many DJs, cabaret and newly revived Burlesque acts, too! All in all, you’re spoilt for choice in Barcelona when booking a concert ticket – you won’t be disappointed!
